This weekend saw our London Park City FC youth teams face two very different challenges — one ending in a thrilling comeback victory, the other in a narrow defeat despite a spirited response. Here’s how it all unfolded:

⚽ U-12 vs Breakaway Athletics
The U-12s were up against a formidable opponent in Breakaway Athletics — a side known for their physicality, speed, and technical sharpness. The match began cautiously, with both teams probing for weaknesses. But it was clear early on that Breakaway were dictating the tempo, attacking down the flanks and stretching our defence.
Their pressure paid off midway through the first half when a reckless tackle in the box handed them a penalty, which they converted to go 0–1 up.
London Park City responded with composure and belief. High pressing and short passing began to tilt the momentum. Paul capitalised on a turnover in the opposition half, weaving past two defenders before calmly slotting home the equaliser.
Just before the break, David stepped up for a free kick from the sideline — and delivered a moment of magic, curling it into the top right corner to give us a 2–1 lead at halftime.
The second half saw Breakaway come out with renewed intensity. Our players were momentarily rattled, falling into their tactical traps. A long-range effort slipped through our keeper’s hands to level the score at 2–2.
But adversity sparked focus. London Park City tightened up, applied smart mid-block pressure, and created several chances. Seven minutes from time, Saheesahn danced past two defenders and buried the winner — a goal that sealed a hard-earned 3–2 victory.
🟦 Final Score: London Park City 3 – 2 Breakaway Athletics

⚽ U-9 vs Zlaty Instinct FC
The U-9s faced a tough test against Zlaty Instinct FC, who came out pressing high and forcing errors early. Our players looked unsettled, and a risky dribble in our own box led to a turnover and a one-on-one finish that put us 0–1 down.
But from that moment on, London Park City began to find their rhythm. Crisp passing, intelligent movement, and some beautiful combinations lit up the pitch — but the final touch was missing. Despite dominating possession and creating several chances, the equaliser never came.
🟦 Final Score: London Park City 0 – 1 Zlaty Instinct FC
